Additional Mary, First Disciple Requirements

In addition to completing the activities in each chapter of the Mary, First Disciple book (total of 36 activities) the Catholic Committee on Girl Scouting in the Archdioceses of Cincinnati (CCGS AOC) has added three required activities and two highly recommended activities in order to earn this Catholic Religious Recognition.

Additional Required activities:

• Facilitate the completion of a binder/scrapbook for each girl.

• Plan an activity or event where the girls can share their Marian experience with others (ex. a younger troop)

• Have each participant write a “Look Back Essay” about her experiences earning the award.

Highly recommended activities:

• Facilitate troop participation in a retreat.

• Facilitate a troop pilgrimage to a Marian Shrine.
